About Me

I’m Erick Knupp, a Graphic Designer and Illustrator originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, now based in Brentwood, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

With over 17 years of experience, I specialize in Branding, Visual Systems, and Illustration, working across entertainment, editorial, and commercial design. My focus is creating work that balances strong design thinking with scalable production systems, so creativity can thrive without losing clarity or craft. Storytelling is my strength

I’ve collaborated with organizations such as the Brazilian National Cancer Institute (INCA), Oticon, Bob’s (Brazil’s largest fast food chain), Sweet Nothing Productions, Artesian Builds, and Blueprint Studios, as well as global entertainment brands including Nickelodeon, Warner Bros., DreamWorks, DC Comics, and Hanna-Barbera. My experience also includes large scale production environments, supporting clients like Google, Netflix, Adobe, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

A key part of my practice is designing systems that support creative output at scale. From building high volume asset pipelines in fast paced production environments to developing editorial structures for complex medical publications, I focus on clarity, efficiency, and adaptability without compromising design quality.

My personal work is rooted in Art Nouveau, Pre-Raphaelite, and Symbolist influences, as well as mythologies and ancient cultures. Through illustration, I explore world filled with symbolic characters and archetypes (from mermaids to Gods and Goddesses) building visual stories that feel both timeless and immersive.

I believe design is a way of revealing inner worlds and ideas and giving them form. My intention with my work is to bridge the gap between real world structure and imagination, where systems and storytelling meet.
